This yacht is close in spirit to the Liberty.

The Grumman Goose is the basis for Lyme's Heron seaplane.


These monkey bars were the inspiration for Shangri-La's ballroom dome.

We actually walked the escape route from the speakeasy Freddy's, down Roy Street on the east side of Capitol Hill in Seattle. (C 1990) The location has since been lined with condos. However in On the Rocks the economic booms of the 90's and 21st century never happened.

These are the Argentine IA-58 Pucara, used to defend the floating speakeasy.

In Straight Up, this resort island in Sitka Sound helped us visualize New Ellis Island.

The historic Brown Palace Hotel in downtown Denver.

There actually were tunnels under Denver's downtown landmark buildings dating from the 1800s. Other American cities can make a similar claim.

This Aero Volga LA-8 was the inspiration for the Colby - Sikes Egret.

This hilltop mansion was reference for the Eagles Nest Monarchist compound.

A mid-20th and early-21st century shot of the sturdy old US Naval and Marine Corps Reserve building on the southern shore of Lake Union, which in Straight Up served as the Cascadian Revolutionary headquarters.
